Does anyone have a good sound system in their maverick. Where is the best place to mount the front speakers, the rear? Would a new stereo install easily or would i have to do things with wires, would the stock antenna work even though it had an AM radio? What would i have to do to put a sub in the back, i was thinking of putting in a spray in bed liner. thanks.

depends on what you call good? IMO unless its got a subwoofer it aint good ;)

front speaker would be best mounted in the kick pannels. the further forward the better.

for the rear the deck lid is fine.

as far as the stereo you would need to cut the stock raido bezel to fit the new single DIN radios.

for wires you can tap into the stock radio harness but you would need to wire up for the new speakers.

    the current atenna will work.

sub will be nice too.. but you will need an amp and you will need to route a powerline streight from the battery to the amp where ever you mount it. i would also suggest that if you do get an amp make sure the radio has RCA outputs even better one with a sub output.

if you have any other questions i'd be happy to answer them.

If you decide to get an amp, which I highly recommend, you should definitely invest in a higher output alternator based on how much amplifier power you intend to run.

i think on cars with air they were 65amps

you don't need any more then that if your just running an stock motor, an aftermarket radio, 4 speakers and not running anything bigger then a true 150 watt RMS amp.

    you should be fine.

I have a JVC Am/Fm/Cass with detachable face. I have 2 speakers front (kickpanels). 2 speakers rear (rear deck) & a 10" subwoofer in the trunk with my 12 disc CD changer. I also have an amp under each front seat (1 powers the 4 speakers & 1 powers the subwoofer. It can be done......
Like they said, you'll have to cut out the faceplate to accept the newer radios....
