Hello, My dad and i are trying to finish up the interior of our maverick and we had a quick question. Is it possible to use something like one of these dash covers and fab up mounts?https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-1970-7...p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 Instead of having to source a core or pay big bucks for a good condition one?
that's what I have on my Mav. it just snaps on or you can use the glue that comes with it. the Accuform is the one I have.
I just ordered one from carparts.com. They had the Accuform one that is also on ebay for quite a bit less $$. Ordered earlier this week with an estimated delivery on Dec 10 so can't tell you about the quality or fitment yet. https://www.carparts.com/dash-cover...averick&vehicle[make]=Ford&vehicle[year]=1975 With shipping and tax it was just under $110.
The way I'm reading his post, I think it is. bryson123 - Many guys have old ones laying around you could probably get pretty cheap. These dash caps must have something to fit over to work. There is no way to use one without an old pad. Post a wanted ad here in the classifieds - someone will have one. All years and 2 or 4 door are the same.
Ahh, I thought RMiller was asking me, not the OP. Yep, looks like the OP does need a core to use one of these caps. I seem to recall seeing someone who was making a complete re-pop of the dash pad for around $300. Can't find it so may not be available anymore.
That shop is right next to me, i went there awhile back and they didnt and were not expecting to get them back in stock anytime soon
Received the Accuform dash pad today. It is pretty well made and fit perfect. So much better than the cracked, sunbaked dash pad underneath. It snapped right in place with no need for their adhesive. (ignore the rest of the car in the pic, lots of work left to do on the interior, once I get the wiring tucked up out of the way)
