Can you tell me about the RSS suspension? Price and your opinions of it? I am wanting to use a built T-5 how hard was it to adapt to a stick shift?
In converting the automatic to a manual was not that big of a deal they fit good together the main issue is the clutch pedal as you know there was no clutches in any of the Mavericks so we had to modify the pedals. They were too wide so we cut part of the left side of the brake pedal and heated the arm that holds it and bent it to the right to make more room for the clutch pedal, and then also heated and bent the clutch arm. Had to go with a hydraulic master cylinder and slave cylinder because they're is no linkage for that car. As far as the RSS three link rear suspension kit from Australia, that was a bit of a nightmare to deal with. They sent me the wrong stuff the first time then when they did send the correct order I had to pay for shipping again. They did not send the correct installation instructions either. We had to just wing it and that wasn't that easy. The kit said bolt on only but I recommend you go with the welded brackets on the Ford 9-in. They don't make a kit for the Ford 8 in. It also pushes the rear end about 3/4 of an inch forward, the reason for that is that there is a bracket for the Mumford linkage (what Australians call Watts linkage) that fits between the gas tank and the differential, and they're just isn't enough room. As far as how it performs the thing is freaking amazing. The car rides on rails! The understeering is pretty much eliminated. The kit isn't that cheap, about $2,500. and shipping is $600 plus, it was a pain in the ass to install, but I would definitely recommend it for performance. You can save money by doing the work yourself of course. I paid a shop about $1,800 because the wrong stuff and wrong instructions so it took more than it should have.
Thanks I am going with the Global west supension so i have to come up with something non stock. do you have any pictures from before they were installed?
Yes those are k&N filters at the front. I just put LED lights on them. When I got dyno tuned, it tested the same with or without the air cleaner. It has plenty of airflow because there's two, especially if you're going fast!
