Got rid of the column shifter linkage and kept the column shifter without going to a floor shifter. Now I can put headers on and still have a column shifter. Just needs a little adjustment to make it prefect.

It's a C-4. I used B&M 8' cable, and shifter adapter parts from B&M, along with a Fox V-8 gas cable bracket and modified it to go over the stud on the MC. I took the lower pic before I took the factory linkage off. I used and 8' and ran it to the pass side and down the trans tunnel and around over the trans tail shaft. 5' would probably work. But I wanted to make sure I had enough cable to keep the curves gentle. Besides it's only $58.
This way it keeps the factory neutral/backup light switch and the steering/shifter lock.

Took Comet in for C4 rebuild, trans leaking every since I bought it July 2009. Trans shifted fine for 13 years and still shifting fine, just got tired of putting various items under car trying keep fluid off floor. I been adding little fluid occasionally and motoring on; been all over Midwest over past 13 years no issues. I didn’t want push my luck any longer; got recommendation from guy I know at cruise night had his C6 rebuilt, very satisfied with work.
Hopefully, get it back by Friday cruise night.

Loaded mine on the trailer so I can get the VIN inspection on Thursday. Bought it with no title so I have to have the number verified by the state patrol to get it in my name. Once that's done I have a three year wait for a legitimate title in my name but it can be registered and driven.

Successful outing, inspection went off without a hitch. Now to hit the DMV for the final paperwork.

Got Comet back Friday from transmission shop, complete rebuild in time to make Blue Cap fundraiser car show.
Blue Cap is organization serving Austistic community; I try to make the event annually, what’s good for me — it’s 10 min trip including stop lights & signs. Nice weather, nice location about 124 cars.
Happy to have my car back on road after casing driveability issues most of year. Got the issues resolved, and rolling pretty good.

This is a great work around for those who want to keep the column shifter and run headers.

If I don't sell it soon, I'll be putting headers on it along with a few other things. But I didn't want to change to a floor shifter either.
