Coil wire

I am having trouble figuring out what wire goes to the coil from the ignition. Right now I am using a wire that goes to the fuse box at the warning light fuse, the car starts fine and runs real good but it is over-heating the fuse and blowing it after it runs for about 30 minutes.
Any help will be appreciated.

If your asking about the wire that connects to the (+) side of the coil, in my '70 there is a 3-position connector at the firewall with a brown wire to the coil (+). When starting, that wire supplies full battery voltage to the coil. In RUN it supplies a reduced voltage to keep from burning the ignition points.

 

On my '74 there is a 3-wire connector with 4 wires going to it, 2 red wires going to same terminal. The wire going to the coil goes to the 2 red wire. The other 2 wires in the connector goes to oil pressure and temp sensors. The extra red wire goes to starter relay.

 

Thanks for the replies, I will check that plug. I am working on a 76, currently the wire going to the + side of coil is a red wire coming out of the main (engine bay) harness. It has been this way since before I got it.

I also removed the duraspark box and distributer and went with a Pertronix
