Will 71 Lincoln 9inch possi with disk work for my 73 maverick

It will be way too wide! Flange to Flange on our Mav/Comet approx. 51 1/4" and to axle face is approx. 56 1/4". If you have fabricating/welding skills, you can shorten the housing, add leaf spring perches and use your existing axles.....

Disc brake parts are impossible to find for that thing.

 

Thanks for the info. I kind of thought it should be about 56 inches long
And thought the disc brakes would be good
But looks like to much work for that to work

 

I've heard with some modification a mid-to-late 90s Explorer has an 8.8 w/ posi and easily available disc brakes.
