speedometer cable

    Hi,

    Does any body have a speedometer cable they can sell me or tell me were i can get one? :cry: Mine doesn't work it won't move the speedo??

    did you pull the cable and check it. how did you trouble shoot to decide it needs to be replaced? is the drive gear working? is the cable plugged into the back of the speedo? just a few things i would check...frank...

    Yes....check all those items. I have never seen a cable go bad....but in case it did...I have lots of them.

    '72 2d to hold my trailer down with.
    My headers melted my speedo cable. Schucks had one for about 12 bucks.

    I've seen 'em break many times, usually from lack of lube. They get dry over the years and seize up and twist in two.

    Yea, I've seen them break too. Usually when the cable dries up your speedometer will start pulsing before it breaks.

    Updates on speed-o cable

    I took the car to the transmission shop and the guy said he would check it for me so hopefully sometime today i should be picking up the car and i'll let you guys know what happens.(y)
