Krash Kadilak here, or you can call me by my REAL name - Marshall.
I'm a long-time member (17 years and over 20,000 posts) of the Station Wagon Forum, which is also owned by your owner/administrator here, Stephan.

We haven't been able to contact Stephan in over a year, and have some pressing operational issues that need his involvement. I'll copy some of a post there by one of our other members that gives some further detail:

    (From SWF member Steve E-D:)
We have known for several years now that Stephan, the owner of this site has gone radio silent. Numerous attempts to reach him have failed. Stationwagonforums.com is a ship adrift at sea without a Captain (Administrator). We still have at least one Moderator, but that role has limited ability to fully manage the site.

Last year we had a big scare that the domain name registration was due to expire and we could lose the forum. It appears to be on an auto-renew payment, but for how long?

Just recently, the forum was offline due to "server bandwidth limit exceeded" - something we have never seen before.

There is a real possibility that this ship may slowly sink without our Admin.

As mentioned in another thread, it may be possible for us as a group to takeover the domain name registration and keep "stationwagonforums.com" pointing to its current IP address.

We still have no Admin control of the forum nor the ability to root out and remove the spam bots.

The biggest problem is that we have no idea where this forum is hosted and who to contact even if we wanted to keep paying the hosting bills to keep the site alive.

Many of us have known each other here 10 years or more. This site is coming up on its 20th birthday. We are Station Wagon Family.

I hate to think of the possibility of losing touch with everyone in the event this forum goes dark for good. We can always start a new forum home, but we have to be able to find each other again.

I would like to propose that we compile an emergency contact email list to be used in the event of such a site failure. This would be kept private in the hands of our fearless Moderator @HotRodRacer

Please consider sending HotRodRacer a Private Message with your email or other preferred method of contact.

Hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst....

    Much love, my friends.

    Steve
    ........................................................................................

So, can anyone here help us get in contact with Stephan?
If there's info you don't want to be made public, you can respond to my e-mail below, and later I should be able to get you contact info for our Moderator, known there as hotrodracer.

Thanks all in advance for your help

Thank you for your reply, Craig. Unlike your organization, we're JUST a forum, but we have quite a lot of active members, and if we don't address these operational issues we're having now, we could be dead in the water. We REALLY need a way to contact Stefan. I'm suggesting to our Moderator that we contact Go Daddy and/or 'Domains by Proxy'.

I am afraid that neither the domain registrar nor the webhoster will talk to strangers, due to legal reasons.
The last time Stefan has logged on here was on Dec 29th 2024, which is somewhat recent.
Did you try to get ahold of him through his paypal address? He's offering paid subscriptions on here, so I would guess this address should be still active.

    1. Perhaps they can assist by forwarding a message for us. They're being PAID for their services. If we DIE, there will no longer be a need to PAY THEM. Should be in their best interest to HELP.
    2. It's been about 3 years since Stefan posted on our forum.
    3. I don't have Stefan's Paypal address. Could you PM it to me?

    Thanks for replying!

    Not yet.
Steve, our moderator ('HotRodRacer') sent him an e-mail on Sunday to his work e-mail address. No response yet, as of this morning.

    I'll keep you updated.

I did speak with Stefan on the phone, so I know he is aware of the situation.

It's only been ONE work day, so we're still patient.

By the way, from Thursday through Saturday, our forum was down because of 'Bandwidth Exceeded'. Came back up yesterday.
