    I'm older...

Well, I'm in the "older" club, but not old! (y) I was born "before" the Mavericks were even built (1962), but came into "driving age" while they were common on the roads. In 1978 I bought my first car, a used black & silver Maverick Stallion with 39,000 miles on it. It had a 302/three speed manual on the floor, cost me $2,400, what a deal! Not a bad ride for a 16 year old, and the cool thing, it was a unique car, no one else had one, unlike all the dudes with Cameros and Firebirds! Anyway, can't wait to get another one someday, I'm keeping my eyes peeled!

I was here 20 yrs before the Mav was born...1950! My dad had a 1953 Chevy when I was born, and had it for quite a while. I still remember that car.

I don't like this thead. I already have four daughters that keep reminding me that I've lived in 6 different decades ( they sounds so neat!) and I certainly don't want to know that a lot of these young whippersnappers weren't even a glint in dad's eye when the Maverick was no longer being made.

Now, some, like Frank, could'ver consulted with Henry on the Model T.:biglaugh:

Wow lot's of September birthdays. Well I was born well before the Maverick and a little before the Mustang. Bought my first car in 1978 when I was 15, it was the 1970 Maverick that I still own today.

I was born 11 years before the first Maverick was born. Even as a young pup, I had an eye for cars and can still remember seeing the first Mavericks sitting on the local Ford Dealership parking lot. My first up close encounter with a Maverick was when my best friends Mom bought a two door 1970 Maverick. It was that ivy green metallic with the green interior. We thought that car was just the coolest thing ever. She had that car for over 10 years. I always wondered what ever happened to it.:hmmm: The Mavericks were still in production when I got my drivers licence, but by then my focus had shifted over to Mustangs. I think I was born a Ford fan.:D

July 9, 1970. I have always thought it was cool that I was born during the first "official" production year of the Maverick. I have a pretty cool color 8mm movie(no sound..ahh, the pre-home video days :) ) that was filmed in front of my parent's house in 1974 that features someone's small bumpered metallic green Mav parked half way down the street. I was 17 when I bought my Grandma's '74 Comet in the summer of '87...and shortly after is when I discovered the movie with the Mav on it. I remember playing that piece of the movie over a few times wishing my Comet would have looked as good as that one did!

NJ_Maverick, that car is IDENTICAL to a 70' I've been looking at. Same color, hubcaps, everything.

    It's up in NC.

You should have made this a poll with the 3 catagories, before, during and after. It be easier to see the numbers.
