Is there any reason why you can't run std shift with power brakes in a 71 Mav.
I know the brake booster takes up alot of room, but maybe going to a hydrolic clutch with a T-5 Trans might work. I would have thought that there was a factory car with a 3 speed and power brakes, but I might be wrong. If anyone has some imput it would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot run the factory power brakes with a manual trans because the brake pedal comes down the left side of the column where the clutch pedal should be. Thats how they get the angle to make it all fit.

You can run power brakes with a clutch setup. Its not factory though.I just finished it on my 1970 Maverick.I also have converted over to the cable for use with a T-5 transmission. To do this, you must be able to fabricate and have access to a weld machine. This involved many hours of measuring, mocking up and finally installing. If you are really interested in knowing what and how I did it let me know.I am in the process of documenting the steps and need a little time to edit what I've written so it is clear. All things are possible, you have to decide if you want to go thru the trouble of doing this.
