I have a torqer 289 intake the one that the carb sets a little side ways on it. I was told that it would not clear a mustang hood so i figgerd it wouldn,t clear my grabber hood but i hope it will. Thanks MAV

A Victor Jr. with a 1 inch carb spacer requires a hole in the hood. Well the intake fits no problem but put a carb and air cleaner on it and....:biglaugh:

Yes , I used to have a Torqer 289 (twisted torqer is what some guys call `em) on a
302 in my Maverick with a regular (not drop based ) Moroso Air cleaner ,and my stock grabber hood. Fit fine.

I have run a Torker, Torker II and a Performer Air Gap and they all fit under a flat hood. The tunnel ram and 2-4's didn't clear:eek:  :hmmm: :D :D
I believe the Grabber hood has even more clearance

I have a Victor Jr. with a one inch spacer. dropped base air cleaner, no hole in hood. Flat hood, not a grabber.

I guess my situation is a little different, I don't have a dropped base air cleaner, and I have a glass hood, I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not, but I had clearance problems.

Dont mind the dust, I haven't taken it out yet this year, I was waiting on new valve covers, and I had just finished putting my rearend back together.:D

I think it looks kinda cool with the air cleaner peeking out over the hood like that.

Weiand Stealth, flat base air cleaner and 3" element, the hood brace hit the edge of the air cleaner. Did not seem to have an issue with the stud. Put a 2 3/4" or 2 5/8" (can't recall) element in and seems to be ok, but the Edelbrock Elite lid I put on for a while was still getting rubbed (and now needs milled ) so I put the chrome summit lid back on, and there are no rub marks on it at all. Want to try a carb spacer but will need a drop base then, and it may not clear my kickdown rod. We'll see...
