hi, has anyone used the conversion kit (mustang) for removing the power cyl. on their mav. i would like to remove everything...i also didn't want to replace the drag link and pitman arm if i don't have to...any part #s would be great...thanks...frank...
Autokrafters part # RP27483 $165, on page 32. PM me after you do it and tell me how it works. I also want to free up the space under the hood and lose all the power steering junk. Just not brave enough to spend that kind of money until I know how well it will work.
Frank ... here is Mutsangs Unlimited part ... http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy01.asp?T1=MU3304A+01&Category=Suspension+%26+Steering&subCategory=Steering+Components&CatKey=EMUSTANG
I never understood why these cars needed power steering in the first place. I can steer ours with one hand makeing a U turn...
scooper, my new book doesn't have the part you are talking about on pp32... dan, that is mighty small for.. 1-2 hr. install...has anyone used either of these? thanks for the info.
Getting the old control valve off may take a while .... putting it all back together is the easy part ...
Oh yeah, I have the 2004 AutoKrafter catalog. Is it still in there, or do I have to go through Mustangs Unlimited?
that is a lot of bucks for such a small part... ???#2, my fan belt adj. is the power steering pump..someone have a pic. or list of parts i need to adj. my fan belt...frank...
Yeah, good point...what drives the fan when you remove the power steering pump? Do you need a different fan base with a pulley that lines up with the alternator?
http://www.mustangsplus.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MPFMP&Product_Code=00649 Mustangsplus has it for $130. I bought one last year someplace for $112. I try to find out where later.
