anyone ever rebuild their upper a arm?
i have a question about the part that actually bolts to the shock tower.
once the "grease caps" on each end are tight to the arm...obviously the "center rod" (or whatever its called) is supposed to spin as the suspension moves up and down.

i notice that you can spin this thing...and it will move it forward and backwards....where do i want it to be?
do i just center it out?
    will this affect caster?
i heard that some cars have caster adjustment shims...mine didnt have any.

    any info is appreciated

I rebuilt my upper arms. The end caps are screw into the upper arm. The shaft is center. From the shop manual it says to measure the distance from the center of the bolt hole to the arm. Do this on both sides until the distance is equal. I hope this helps.

There is no shims and it will not affect the caster.

Yeah, and torque the end caps to 30 ft lbs, if I remember right. I filled the caps part way with grease before I put them on. some came out the zerk hole but I knew they were filled up.
