    does anyone know if a 275x60x15 tire will fit in a stock wheel well? the rims will be 15x8 with 4 inch backspacing. i am considering running 255's or 275's . the car is a 71 4 dr w/ stock length rear axles. no mini tubs.

    What is the biggest you can get under there without BFH engineering? I have 245 and seems like I could easily get 255, maybe 265 under there.

    i'd roll them cuz if the leaf springs are weak they will rub... or if your car is as low as mine it will rub too.

    without BFH 245 easy.

    The answer to your question is going to depend on the backspacing of the wheel that the tire is mounted on, whether it be 3-3/4", 4", or 4-1/4"...

    :2cents:
    I just put BFGoodrich T/A 255/60/15 on cragar street stars 15x8 reversed 3 1/2 inch Backspace. lifted backend, this setup DOES clear lakewood traction bars.

    1971 2dr maverick, rearend/springs from 1976 4dr mav.

    GOOD FAT TIRE RIM COMBO imo

    255 is width of the tire, 60 is the aspect ratio of the tire like its 60% of the width of the tire, and 15 is the tire size

    part time--- i looked it up and here goes (per cooper tire web page)

    255= width of the tire in millimeters
    60= ratio of height to width (aspect ratio)
    15= wheel diameter in inches
    i am thinking of going with the american racing outlaw 1 brushed aluminum. i have a friend who is thinking of changing wheels and i should be able to get them fairly cheap. if he does not sell then even new they aren't that expensive.
