...I was at my parents house for dinner today and while perusing Dad's Cars & Parts Magazine I saw a picture of a red '72 Grabber in a junkyard. It did have the elusive Grabber hood you non-Comet GT drivers seek so much, in fact it looked restorable overall sans the front bumper, grille and lower valence. Keep in mind this was only by looking at 1 color picture with a detailed description of it being a 302 car.
This magazine has a featured junkyard every month that specializes in older cars and parts. I do not know if it is for sale for parts or in whole.

I found the contact info in yellowpages.com, so call to verify before you make a trip.

    Good Luck- Seth

    The RED GRABBER IS SOLD!

Yep, Tomm, that's the junkyard. Been there a lot. The owner of the junkyard showed me the layout before the magazine came out and it looked like it was going to be a pretty extensive article on his place.

I looked the Grabber over pretty good back in February, but the rust would have been a real headache to fix. The car was from Corpus Christi (Coastal salt air) which is not too good for metal, and then the car was sitting in grass for years and was rusted from underneath. I actually turned it down, when he offered to sell the whole car to me. [Yes, I can say "NO" on occasion].

A guy from Mexico came and bought it to restore last week, which is good.

    Here's another shot....

I took 40 pictures of the car to study when I got home, only to decide the car was way too far gone for me:

How come you didn't get the hood? I'm sure you could have found a mav to put it on ;)
