i have been seeing ppl using mustang floor boards. my problem is since i am mustang illiterate how does that work. just pick the mustang year of your car and hope it works, or is there a certain mustang yr that is closer to the maverick size and shape??

None will fit exactly but stmanser on this forum used 1971 mustang full floors. Do a search and you can read what he did. It seemed petty straight forward.

    Good Luck

I think all Classic Mustang years used same floor boards

i bought the 71 stang floors since i have a 71 maverick....the mustang floors are completely flat.....

just had to trim off the inside portion (not the side that has the 1"lip bent into it) off down the entire length..the part where the hump is....

since the mustang fllor baords are wider....and then i just tack welded the entire fllor board in, using a hammer as i went to try and get a good fit with the floors...

it was simple to do...jsut took all day long sat and sun

also make sure you dont cut off too much from either floor....or you will have gaps....i had a couple gaps... and i had to cut metal to fit and weld it in....

SO if you now have mustang floors, doesn't that open up parts availablity for Mustang seats, brakets etc, after market... which are readily available??

when i got the new floor boards it had 1 inch holes where the seat bolts would go..i am assuming that there are nut plates of some sort that weld to the bottom of the floors so that you can thread a bolt downward into the nuts.... i had to weld on pieces over these holes because my seats from the thunderbird wouldnt line up...

as far as the year of floor boards...i am not sure...i just did that because i knew i was going to have to cut them anyways...i took a gamble....

since the maverick floors are all pretty much the same...i would be willing to bet that the 71 mustang floor will work for all years maverick....but thats my guess,..

    good luck

the mustang floors have a extra extension, that goes in top of the floor, that the seats mount to, thats why the large holes. mustang seat tracks are much shorter.like dan said mustang floor pans are the same for 65-73.

Anyone have a clue how well they would go into a cat Mav?
I would love to get some more traditional pans in there.
I am afraid that the cat hump extends to far into the tranny hump and would cause a big gap though.
Are you guys sure that all early Stangs have the same pan?
I wouldn't think so... They are so varied in size from year to year, not to mention the difference between coupes, convertibles, and fastbacks. There has to be differences IMO. Compare the interior space and layout between a 65 coupe and a 71 FB... Big difference.
I would think that a 65-66 FB would be close to our cars... not nearly as wide inside as a 71-2-3.

65-73 mustang floor pans are the same, the only difference is, the ribbing on the back floor is different on 71-73, but the size is the same

ratio411..... if you want flat floors....just cut out yours.....get the mustang floor boards....and use some other metal to fill in the gaps...... it isnt that hard to do...and you can make it look decent if you take your time...

    good luck
