for about the last month or so I've been reworkin my mav somewhat ,well at the moment, my engines sitting on the stand waiting for my custom length pushrods to arrive....last weekend I swapped out my factory third member for a 3.80 w/detroit locker,ad I swapped in a TCI street fighter stall converter, today I gutted the interior and welded in my new subframe connectors( kudos to Dan.... they worked nicely:)..)....well tomorrow I get to fix a rusted out driver side floor board(around dimmer switch)other then that ,just waitin to drop the engine in so I can finish the exhaust, ... and for all the d*mn snow to melt............thanks to all on here for the tech help!... this site rocks!!!

    update

well this last weekend I built my exhaust dumps, and fixed up the rust out spots in my floor boards, I know i should have cut them out and welded new pans in, but I took the easy route, first the floors were not really bad maybe the size of a fist right by the dimmer switch and even less on the passenger side,so I cleaned them up good with a wire wheel and treated them with "RUST-MORT" rust converter then pop riveted new panels over the holes and sealed around them, then painted the entire floor with rust-oleum wich is how it will remain till later this summer whenI can find(and afford) a good carpet set for it.

today I finally got my pushrods and was able to get my engine back together again I'm hoping to drop it in tomorrow!! I'll keep ya posted....

    ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well yesterday I fired it up, damn she sounded NASTY with the open headers ran it for about 15 min. cracked the throttle off a few times so the whole neighborhood could hear it,then shut'r down!!
only problem was a slight antifeeze leak from my temp sending unit, nothing another 1/2 turn of the fitting wouldn't take care of!

today i built the rest of the exhaust put the seats, and the harnesses back in, tomorrow she'll be on the street lookin for chevys!!

heres a pic of the engine, only changes are a chrome coil, and it has a K&N 7" velocity stack air cleaner!

    maiden voyage

Well today I took my mav out for her first ride since the completion, everything went good. I put about 60 miles on it highway cruising the rpms run about 35/3800, not sure of the speed, just staying with everybody else(the speedo is way off since the gear swap!), stoplight to stoplight, she'll burn'm with no effort at all, I've gotten many copliments on it today allready and I've only just taken'er since last summer.!!

NOW on to more serious things.....Being as I spent all ,y money on the mods,I'm trying to raise $60 to get her licensed for this year, it expires at the end of the month:D ...any donations will be welcomed!!!!! thanks ,....I'm sure if we work together we can get through this MAJOR CRISIS!!!!
