I need a new carb for a 351 Cleveland. This car is strickly a run around car and is completely stock. It has Holley on it now but I am not sure if it's a 600 or 650? I want to get good gas mileage. Btw, sorry I have not been around in a while but I receintly joined the ranks of the unemployed. Thank you!

    Is yours beyond repair?
Cheaper to fix than replace, and you'll want to tune a new carb to fit your requirements anyway, roughly the same money going into tuning as rebuilding an old one.

As a replacement, Autolite 4100 is damn nice if you can find one. The only moving parts are the valves and the accelerator pump. The jets are in the bottom of the bowls, no metering blocks, nothin to mess up, and can be tuned for power or milage, take your pick.

You can tell what carb it is by the number that's stamped on the ft.of the air horn. As for which carb, if the engine is basically stock I would stick with a 600cfm. If yours is one of these I would suggest rebuilding it rather than picking up another. You can purchase a full rebuild kit for these at a fraction of the cost of a new one. (y)
