If you go with a cable setup then a z-bar is not used ...

From what I have seen 73 and earlier just need the pedals .. 74 and later need the pedals and the pedal/steering column support ...

Nope ... just need the correct support out of an early car. Here is how you can verify what support you have:

The correct support for Clutch pedals will have a Red retaining clip to the right of the brake pedal on the support bar when looking under the dash. If you remove this clip you can slide out the pivot rod and the brake pedal will drop out.

Incorrect support for Clutch pedals will have a bolt throught the brake pedal and a nut on the side of the support.

    Let me know ...

Hey Squall If you are going with a T-5 Trans. I think it is easier to go cable and eliminate the whole Z bar set-up. You can use the bell and fork out of a mustang. Also can get the mustang pedal set-up and use some of the parts with your automatic pedal support. Do a search for cable clutch on this forum. All the info is there for you to make this swap. The Z bar is a real hassle with headers. Just my 2 cents

    Good Luck
    Mike

Hey Squall, I assume since you have the bolt with a nut you doing the swap on your 76. If your 71 is an auto you can swap supports between the cars and get the pedals from Dan to put on the early support.

Double the effort but that will definitely work ... your 71 will have the correct support whether it was auto or stick originally ...
