I think I may have convinced the wife to let me drag the mav up on a u-haul trailer. We just might make it from Houston area. It would be nice to meet some of the guys on the forum.

No problem. Or the closest way to park is park it at the walmart's up the road (5 miles maybe away)
Or you can park it at my house, doesnt matter

See everyone there THIS SATURDAY! (y) Is there anything else we need to bring? Food, drinks, etc? Also, can someone please post the address or directions. I know this was posted once before, but I'm having a hard time finding it.

    Directions:

I-40 to Conway, Exit 129. Get off at that exit, you'll want to be going westbound on Ar. Highway 60 (which is also Dave Ward Dr.). Go past the bus factory (hard to miss all those buses!) and just keep on going. The Bus company (International, Inc) is approx 3/4-1 mile from the exit. Once you go past International, you'll stay on Ar. Hwy 60, approximately 7 miles and it will take you directly to Toad Suck Ferry Lock & Dam, and you will see Mavericks parked there. Wal Mart is also on the way, just in case you need to stop for anything, as well as several other places (Sonic Drive-In, couple mexican restraunts, Italian restraunt, car washes, Mr. Quick-lube, among others). Just remember, exit 129 off of I-40, turn right.

Be warned, however....exit 129 is undergoing a LOT of construction and there will most likely be some congestion in the area. Once you get past the construction Zone, it's fairly straightforward.

If you turn the wrong direction off of the freeway, you'll end up in the middle of nowhere...you'll pass a mobile home sales place, then a convenience store...and from there on out is nothing but pasture. You'll know you're going the right way if you see the Honda car dealer and the John Deere/Yamaha dealership on your right, approximately 1/4 mile from the freeway.

On a lighter note...Jeez. Over 1000 posts. I need to find something better to do!

    Great, Thanks!
I won't be driving my Maverick - it's not even close to being ready (see pic). But I'll be riding with Steve (another MCCI member) in his '74. Either way, I'll be there!
Jim said something about being there at 8 AM. I think we'll come down Friday night so we don't have to get up so early. Do we need to bring anything or do you guys have it covered already?

Jim and i decided it was pretty much BYOF (Bring your own food) so we know everyone will have something they like to eat there. We don't get the pavillion to 10am but I will be there a bit earlier setting things up if noone is there using it.
I will be bringing some extra things to eat/drink but bring what you like, so we know we have plenty of food for everyone and everyone has a good time

I am a newbie here and I wish I knew ahead of time, because I live about 5 hours away from Conway here in Louisana. This would have given me a chance to meet the owners and see the Mavs/Comets. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. I would like to suggest that the next time Fon Ford Weekend is in town have the mini-meet then to accomodate the owners from this area. Anyway, fellows have a great time and be careful.

    Sorry you can't make it.
This is the first meet ever held in Arkansas, atleast that i know of.
Maybe you can make it if you hold another meet.
