Well....right at a month away from the 12th Annual Round-Up Nationals....the world's largest gathering of Maverick and Comet enthusiasts. It is like a virtual chat room....with "real time" conversations....face to face....rapid fire answers.....and actual examples on hand that can be looked at, touched, fired-up, and even driven!!! It doesn't get any better than that!!

As I am the membership Director of the MCCI....it is my duty to try and get as many people to join the MCCI as possible....so we can continue to put on great events and gatherings...like the Round-Up Nationals. As has been stated many, many times before............Put on by MCCI Members...for MCCI Members . This means you need to be a member. It would benefit me greatly for those of you that are planning to join the MCCI at the event to either do it ahead of time (preferable by me)...or do it as soon as you get to the event. The sooner we get it done.....the less work it is for me.....and I can get out and enjoy the show. As this event grows and grows........eventually membership ahead of time will be very important. As rooms fill up, we will need to verify that all rooms booked at the host hotel are for MCCI members. If all rooms are booked up...and not all of those rooms are booked to MCCI members........then we may have to cancel the reservations of non-members to make room for MCCI members that want to stay at the host hotel. It's only fair.

So avoid the crowds and join the MCCI today!!

    Thank you for your co-operation.

    Craig,
I am planning on coming. Still working out the trailer details.
I have not reserved a room but I am a member.
Am I too late for the host hotel?

I just got a hotel room with the $65 MCCI deal a couple days ago. Should be no problem getting one.

Also, the wife and I are stopping in on Friday night only, on the way through to a family reunion in PA, So my room will be freed up after Friday. I would think you should have no problem getting reservations.

Hope to see a bunch of you there.

Since we are just passing through, I will not have the Maverick, but will have my laptop with my website and other pictures on it. Not quite the same, but the best I can do under the circumstances.

The way the rooms worked. We (MCCI) reserved 60 rooms for Friday and Saturday night. These rooms were locked in for us up until 30 days prior. Then the rooms are available to anyone and everyone.

Craig as I mentioned to you paypal or another online secure transaction would be great. Im just not a fan of snail mailing anything. Maybe because Im young enough to move with the times yet old enough to remember life before computers:biglaugh: I think the MCCI should offer as many means as possible to make it easy and attractive to non members to become members.Remember as the younger members come up through the ranks as the years go by they will be expecting an up to date modern car club not a 50's reunion(no offense old timers I got nothing but respect for ya:bowdown: ) but you gotta move with the times or die a slow death. I for one would be willing to pay an extra fee to sign up from my computer. Call it laziness or whatever you want I call it convienence:) Just my,more than likely, worthless:2cents:

    I agree with that 100% :)
I hate to sit down and write out a check since it's so easy to just Paypal a payment somewhere. I certainly think it would increase membership if it was available. (y)

The idea of electronic payments is not a bad one. I do believe that this was brought up before, but I don't remember what happened with it. Just a note, though, that Paypal is not completely free. The reciepient has to pay a small percentage of the funds for use of the service. The payee is the one that uses the service free. There will be a meeting at the Roundup so that would be a good forum to bring the subject up at.

Yes, we realize that it's not free for the recipient. I think that's why it was suggested that we could pay a little more. ;)

Agreed, I'd be glad to pay 5 bucks more to save the mailing hassle, this could also generate extra revenues for the club.(y)
