I was wondering how many of you with a/c use it frequently in the summer and how many of you who don't have it wish you did? I ask because i have mine all in and ready to go, just needs to be charged, but i dont care for how it looks under the hood. I want it out, but my dad thinks im crazy and wants me to leave it in. I realize i should just do what i want, but i was wondering how you guys felt about it. My vote is beauty over comfort.

It was 97 in middle Georgia this afternoon. The Maverick either had a/c or it didn't get driven today. Listen to Dad and keep the a/c. I'm building a '73 with a pretty radical street engine and I'm leaving the a/c in it. Nothing like being cool when you're in a hot car...in more ways than one.

Mine came from the factory with A/C. I have not put it back on yet and I miss it!

Yeah, it probably would not make much sense to remove it. It just seems to really clutter everything up under the hood. On the bright side, there will be no more sticking to vinyl seats and people might actaully get some enjoyment out of a ride. Thanks for the input.

Depends on the climate. It hit 101*F here today with a heat index of around 110. I'm going to fix my AC, come hell or high water. Its just too damn hot in Alabama.

When its mid 90s or below, I can get fairly comfortable without AC in the Comet, but no one wants to ride with me, including the wife and kids. I'm used to it, they're not.

My car has A/C but it was removed from the engine for performance reasons by the previous owner. I have all the parts and plan to reinstall everything soon. Air condition was a very expansive option not seen on most Mavericks. I think If the car has air, it should be there in working order unless it is a pro stock or other race Maverick.

I don't have A/C in the '71, never did. The only time I miss it is when A: I'm stuck in traffic in the city and the sun is beating down B: A hot little number won't ride without it. :D

I had an aftermarket a/c system put on, and it has been a lifesaver. It doesn't have icycles hanging from your nose, but it works very well. Doesn't even heat the car up! Best mod I made on my car.

In my opinion form should always follow function. If it clutters the engine compartment, so what? It's supposed to be there and if properly detailed will look just fine. Besides, you can't see it when the hood is closed which is 99% of the time anyway. It will add comfort for you and your passengers and will also add value to your car. I say keep it.

I say keep it also, as mentioned A/C on these cars just not as common, I have 4 and only one of them has A/C.

My 72 Comet has Air from the factory, was removed completey along w/ the heater box by previous owner. I wish I had the air back in a way, but it's just a dragcar for now, still trying to get parts to make it back street worthy
