two weeks ago, my daughter and me went and looked at a 66 mustang.it was in pretty bad shape, they wanted 250.00.i did not tell her it was going to be hers.after thinking about it several minutes, i figuerd i would sleep on it a while. on the way home we stopped and looked at a 1970 maverick.the owner wanted 800.00 told him i would think about it.i asked my daughter which on she would rather have if it was for her,she said the maverick.i finally converted her. went back today to take another look.after talking to the owner a while i noticed it was a 69.5 with 75000 miles.i had pretty much decided i was going to take it.then he told me if i got it this weekend i could have it for 500.00. yep.... you guessed it im am picking it up this weekend.he also told me i could have his 1996 pontiac sunfire for 100.00,needs motor work.body in real good shape thinking about it also. will post pictures this weekend. i think my daughter will be suprised when i give it to her.
I hope it is like that when my son is older, right now he loves my mav(he's 3) but you never know about later. I have a Mav for him already just got it set back.
congrats i'm sure your daughter will be happy i was so glad when my dad gave me my mav the funny thing is that when i was little 5 or 6 i used to think the mav was a pony cuz it had a stang emblem inside and u put the gas through the back
That's great! I sure hope when I have kids that they'll take to the Mavericks and Comets. I almost had my sister converted...but she still wants a mustang
I am reading this late in the post, but after seeing what he got her...she will be very proud to drive that car when he is done. Ed (fan2488) does GREAT body work, interiors, and fabrication of metal, and he has done a wonderful job with his orange car. He will do a good job on his daughter's car, and she will be AMPED to drive around in some vintage metal!!! His daughter has chosen a classy shade of purple (raspberry) that looks good on the part he has painted thus far. It is actually a color I contemplated until I chose a cheby color (Corvette anniversary red). Ed, keep it up, you will make a good name for the MAVERICK! PS--help me with my body, I will help you with your engine
