I was under the impression that the Strange brake kit # B4134WC for a 67-69 Mustang w/ drum brakes would fit our 70 Mavericks with the drum brake 4 lug spindles. It doesn't. Any idea what spindle I would need to make this fit? The outer bearing is too small for the spindle. Thanks in advance..
I used the aerospace mustang kit with the maverick four lug drum spindle had no trouble with the bearings but they had to put a spacer on the back side of the out side race when i got them i could not adjust the bearings it ran out of threads before they got tight that's what they had to do to make them work. I like the aerospace cap i drilled and plugged it i run synthetic oil in the bearings not grease it has a seal on the cap. This is a drag car only
is the outer bearing is too small on the inside or outside diameter of the bearing? ie: the rotor side or spindel side? if its the inside just get a differant bearing. if it the outside your SOL. Mavericks 73 and up V8 or I6 spindels will work for sure! (72 below i'm not to sure) or Mustang 67 to 73 will work... remember as i meantioned to you b4 (i think i did?) i also have some 5 lug mustang drum spindles that i didn't use in my swap. i'll sell them if you want them.. that i know will work with that kit since thats what its for... let me know. also remember wilwood has a kit now too. since after i fiddled with it testing them out on maverick and sending parts back and forth to and from wilwood before i got it to work... now they have a kit. then again who knows if they have it right.. either way i know how to make it work.
