from the looks of your 302 if you are going to race it the 4 point will be trouble at the track depending how fast your running you need to check the rules at your track i got the S&W 8 point

NO, the car will be a street car with one (or two) EGO trips to the track!

As a side note (can I highjack my own thread?) went to the local track for the first time in 20 years today! Summit ET series was runnning. WOW! I forgot how much fun that is. There were even 5 Mavericks running! 2 in the PRO clas running 12.25 and 10.79 with a 500 inch motor! AH, rubber in the nostrils! The imports were having a hard day! For the first two hours of time trials no fewer than 5 of them lost a trans-axle, cv joint or something. Several track oildowns occured! Frustrating..

    Four point bar, anyone?

Scotty, if you put a cage in your car, our cars won't be twins anymore.

Sorry Ray.. But yours will always be faster! And I will feel much better when my 9 an 7 year old are cruising with me. Somehow they missed putting airbags in my Maverick!

Scottyp when I first looked into a roll bar set uop for my car I was looking at getting a "kit" also . The guy who I talked to about installing it pointed out that by the time I bought one of the kits, then paid shipping, then paid him for installation/modifications (to make it more user friendly) that I wold be better off just to tell him exactly what I wanted ,and he would build it from scratch. He was right ,and I`m very happy with the end result. 1.) I wanted to keep the whole interior intact and useable including
    the rear seat .
2.) I wanted to be able to get into ,and out of the car without being a
    contortionist.
3.) The car would spend 90% of the time on the street, going to the
track only a few times per year.

    I`m happy with the results.

Note that the armrests are still usable :)

Also the crossbar can be removed for rear seat access by removing two scaffold pins.

    Scotty,

That's a nice thought....but ain't necessarily right. Think about it...a rollbar is designed to be used at the track while wearing a helmet. If you're riding around on the street without a helmet, then a rollbar is just something else to cause significant head trauma. If you don't think so, just ask anyone who has knocked the crap out of themselves getting into or out of a "race car". I'm speaking from the voice of experience here. Just something to think about.
