I want to say hello from Ankara,Turkey. I (actually my father ) have 76 comet 4dr V8. It is his first car and we are still using it.. Here in Turkey a liter of gas costs about 2 dollars so we don't use the car very much... Any member from Turkey ? I guess not Byes..
Pics.. Here are some photos of our car, 5 years ago. Well not in a good condition sadly. The situation is even worser, but now the car is getting a new paint , rusted places will be fixed I hope. However some parts are still missing, as seen on the pictures I think I will get into it after it has painted..
Welcome from me also. That's okay about the missing parts, my have missing parts too. These guys & gals will give you alot of information on replacement parts, evan from other cars. They are alot of help.
, welcome to the board....you will find a lot of people "talking turkey" on this site but not anyone else from Turkey... ...frank...
Welcome. It always amazes me where these cars show up...it's nice to see people from around the world. I spent about six months in Incirlick back in '93...facinating country.
Welcome to the boards.. we gotta lot of turkeys here,, but me thinks you are the only one from Turkey. That is a nice car,, wonder how many were exported overseas? Dan
Well thanks a lot, may be I should say Turkiye..The thread name made me a turkey Back in 50's Turkiye got Marshall Credits (something like that) from US but this money is used to build roads and exporting cars from US, so up to 80's majority of cars were classical american. There are many Chevys here, still some of them on the road. But I saw only two or three comets up to today, while traveling on the car. After all our car 76 comet 4dr, is produced 21006 times so I don't think there are many left on US either.. actually I did not see any 76 4 door on the net. I came across this comet from Turkiye by chance while looking for other cars, it is in a very good condition; I wonder how that guy maintained that car.. especially while looking at our car. He is selling it for 8500 $, may be little expensive for US. Check the other pictures especially the interior.. http://www.araba.com/ilan/ford/mercury/96116.html Selcuk
I got my hood and some other parts off a 76 4 door Comet just like yours in a junk yard a while back. Same color and everything, and it also had a 302. The car was in decent shape and was rust free. I was strongly considering buying it, but I'm sad to say they crushed it before I could get back to look it over better. They are out there...
I don't know how that guy maintained it so well...maybe he has connections or kept it in the garage all the time. It looks like it's in great shape.
