Hey everyone, I purchased rear leaf springs for my 70 maverick from J.C. Whitney and I need to know which parts I need to order for a hassle free installation. Are there polyeurethane bushings available for them? I have heard good things about ESPO are there any other recommendations? I appreciate your time and insight. Rock it like you cocked it, Kyle
yeah... replace all the parts....shackles.. bolts... bushings.... and check the mounting points for cracks before you put it all together...and paint all the bare metal spots... i need to get rear springs for mine... so bad... i cant wait... espo has all the hardware you will need. good luck...
You can re-use the original shackles if they are in good condition. Replace all bushings and U-bolts. F.Y.I.: Polyurethane bushings squeak, so be advised...
T.L. I second that!! I don't drive my car much but I do hear the bushings. Sometimes they are louder than the locker!
T.L., not only do they squeak, they give a hard, bouncy ride. The stock rubber bushings are best if you want a good ride.
