My '76 has reinforced shock towers, but this would seem to get in the way of relocating my upper control arms 2 full inches. The kit supposedly contains a wedge to keep the ball joint from binding. This would be great if I could do it. Anybody ever do this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry, Richard. I thought all shock towers were the same.

What 'kit' are you talking about? Two FULL inches? I have a 1" drop and my header flanges are digging a 3" deep trench.

    re: donation
You can have a pretty little "Supporting Member" emblem under your name (see mine) for a minimum of $20 donated to Stefan to help keep the site up and running. :D See LINK.

BTW, I don't mean to imply that anyone is holding the info "ransom". I just think more information is needed for someone familiar with your setup to answer your q.

Paypal me $500.00 at astanger@yahoo.com and I will tell you the answer :D Seriously though, I have heard of a couple people moving the control arms up, but all it did for them was hose their suspension geometry.

    I am confused....

I thought that would help the camber problem quite a bit.

Two inches is quite a bit, I only moved mine 1 inch as per the template that came with my upper control arms, and as Rick Book said the headers are a little close to the ground.

Yes, It would put the headers close to the ground. Skid plate? Smooth out the aerodynamics underneath.

What type of car are we talking about here? What are you trying to achieve? Is this a streetable car or is track only? What kind of track?

You gotta provide more information - for starters, like answering my question "What kit?"
