i guess my mph is down with the 302 ci and a 600 holley hp on rpm intake just aint gona do the mph that it is showing
man...makes me cry...i thought i was over 200 hp....now it shows that i am under 200... i wonder what would happen if i had traction...i bet it would show me over 200 hp and my time would be near the 14.0 and high 13 range i swear,,,my engine screams...i know it has more HP than that chart says back to the drawing board....and my engine guy is fired
I assume that chart is if everything is working perfect, including traction and optimum gears etc.. It is based on how much horsepower it takes to move a given weight a certain distance. IF I ran a 14 second qtr in my car I would not assume that only means I have X horsepower. It is a good tool to use to build a engine to spec to run a certain time.

Its just wrong... 3400lbs, 344rwhp running 12.5... I know guys with bone stock 2000 Cobras pushing about 290 rwhp (320 advertised at flywheel, dyno'ed for proof), weighs about 3400 if not more, running mid to high 12's.
74 merc, the chart says 344 flywheel horsepower for a 12.5 at 3400lbs. Not to far off of your 320 indicated below. The chart says to multiply 344 x .85 to get rwhp (292rwhp in their example). Very close to your 290! Based on the response it looks like the chart is quite accurate assuming traction and all other variables are optimal.
