not to sure yet let me get this sample done first... it shouldn't be much.. it should beable to ship UPS... i've shipped a 45 lbs exaust with the same dimentions for like 24.00 bucks.. so it can't be more then that!

Maverick-Man that is awesome of you to take on such a project. As someone who works with fiberglass on a daily basis I can appreciate the work it takes to make an accurate and repeatable mold. Will you be using a polyester or epoxy based resins? The carbon spoiler sounds great too. I have an original grabber piece(s) but would even consider a quality aftermarket spoiler for my 2-door just to save the original pieces for a restoration. I think $150 is a great deal. Best of Luck.(y)

    Ok The Mold Is Done!

Ok mold is DONE!!!!! Remember this was molded off an original grabber spoiler all 3 pieces

Ok good news and bad news…… it was cheaper and more then I thought. The actual piece is cheaper to do however to inset the threads for the hardware (which I might add is NOT included) I have to have send out to be done. And that’s not cheap… But the good news is it’s gonna come in close to what I told you guys!

NOTE: The CF one should be layed over a sort of like fiberglass process so I can get the screws to set in there. if this was a full Carbon Fiber Piece it would cost more then $500 bucks cuz it would have to go though something called pre-peg where they vacuum pressure it… not work it for us maverick guys so I don’t think this will be fine.

Also I’d like to ask you guys that have gotten just the one piece from other companies if they even had threads for the stock hardware?

    So here is the pricing:

Carbon Fiber all 3 piece spoiler: $250 as I said

Fiberglass one will be $168.00 all 3 piece spoiler: So a whole 18 more dollars that I first thought.

Remember you guys are gonna spend at least $150 from other companies and that’s just for the one piece plus what ever the shipping is and it don’t fit! Don’t take my word for it take the other guys words on here that have experienced it first hand!

If I decide to put these on e-bay they will be about a min of $25 bucks more! they will probably be rip offs trying to sell them just watch.. lol! Not to menation it will probably drive up NOS ones! but don't worry i'm just thinking about it.

Most importantly! I need a So Cal Car to test a carbon fiber piece out on… I’ll give it to you for cheaper then the $250 just so I can know it fits.. the car must be a original Grabber with the tail!.. so I guess 72 and below. I must do this first before I start selling them.. this is for your own good and mine.

If you really want either one of these I must have a head count for orders FOR SURE that will take these within 4 months starting today! This will be done PAY PAL only or cashier check only (which will take longer for put though). I’m only taking verbals right now.

So e-mail me at maverickman@maverickman.com and make the head tittle like this:

(how many) Carbon Fiber Spoiler (your name)

    or

(how many) Fiberglass Spoiler (your name.)

I will start taking money when I get the first piece done and on a maverick! If oyur wondering about shipping it can't be more then $25 bucks i would think. but i gotta price boxes as well. I may use a friends shops boxes to get them out. we will see.

I think I’m crazy to do this cuz i’m not even putting one of these on my car cuz they painted the car with the end caps on and if I take them off the paint will crack oh wells maybe another car.

I also have some neat ideas for you guys for a paint scheme on the carbon fiber ones. You can leave the spoiler in CF and just paint part of the bottom of the end caps the color of your car so it flow nicely! Get what I mean?

thanks.. i don't actually work on the fiberglass stuff... i'm using my best sources to get this thing done... like 4 differant places! but to answer your questions it will be a epoxy based.

For us that don't have the spoiler's, what hardware would we need to get the spoiler on? What is an end cap?

you would have to go to a nut and bolt shop and try to find the the right peices. maybe someone else here that has one can tell you.. the end cap bolts i know are the same.

    Carbon fiber...

Carbon fiber anything is always expensive. Look at what the ricer pay for their carbon fiber stuff! When I get the money up I would be very interested in the hood and spoiler. Plus if you can make a carbon fiber deck lid, front fenders, and front valence? That would be sick beyond belief. Nobody would want to race me seeing all that carbon fiber on my car!

A factory spoiler is 3 pieces . The trunk piece has 4 holes drilled in the edge of the trunk lid where the mounting lugs, which are attached to the spoiler, go through and are held on by some special "U" shaped washers with a nut attached. The spoiler end caps, or quarter panel extensions, attach the same as the stock ones, using the same hardware. Depending on how the reproduction trunk part is made will depend on how it will be attached. Maybe Derrik can shed some more light on this part.

Maybe someone can post a pic or two, if I need that U shape bolt, I wwould need a pic to match it up at the bolt specialty store. Sizes would help too.

it will be an exact copy of the orginal cuz that what its molded off of. i'm sure there is another way to do this without the U washers.. i think someone did a post on this didn't they?

i try to find my U bolts some where and take a pick of them... but i don't see way you can't use a big washer and and a nut on the end of it

I guess I understand. If I drill they holes, and find some big bolts that fit the threads in the spoilers. Then use a big washer & lock bolt to secure the spoiler on. It's starting to make sense, bare with me, the brain is a little slow starting up.

we are talking about a rear deck spoiler correct! If so it should fit on a comet after all my trunk lid is off a mav.

    i don't see why it woundn't work

yes... remember this is an exact replacement.. no hardware included. however i have found a source for weird bolts and nuts. we will see what i can find.

yes.. when i talk about something i finish it ;) its takes awhile but i do to it. i should have a sample if not all some extras only 5 fiberglass and 5 carbon done by next week or after thanksgiving.. i'll take pictures as soon as i get them done.

I still need a stock Grabber to test fit this on! i can test fit the ends on my car which is not a problem but i would like to see the whole thing on a grabber.
