Congrats to John his supporters on getting the most votes for his car. After I saw the voting jump into the 3,000's for both the Mavrick and the SVX I started looking through the detailed logs to see what was going on as most featured cars don't get more than 1,300 votes or so.... :) There was definitely some interesting voting methods being used on BOTH sides as well as some mild "hacking type" attempts at obtaining passwords for records.

I think the battle of the car makes and boards is a good thing, although this one got a little crazy and personal. However, it is kind of boring, and I do get complaints if boards/groups keep the same car type on the front page month after month....

At one point, the Mercury Marauder group had the 90% of the top 30 cars all being Marauder's, and we had to cut some to keep the field and cars somewhat diversified.

Anyways... I thought I would drop in and say thank you for contributing to the site!

BTW, my cars have hardly any votes.... :)

You should have heard what we did to Mustangs & Fords magazine when they
had an online poll for 'Your Favorite Ford'!

This is definitely a dedicated and alert group. And a great group of folks on
top of that. Good luck with your site and come back again for a visit.

Thanks for stopping in. Just out of curiosity, do you know how many hits your site recieved last month? I'll bet it was a good bit. :)

I think between the Subaru and the Maverick, the Maverick definately deserved it more. I mean, the site is called dragtimes. :)

just wanted to point out that there are a couple of ford fans here at work that were not able to add their votes. something with the way your site sees the proxy vs the way we connect to the web, probably mostly on our side. i kept voting first thing then it would tell them they already voted. not really relevant though since john won(y). thanks for stoppin by, and just what kind of car do you drive?

I must say that Maverick owners are a loyal bunch that are very passionate about thier cars. The Subrau guys proved that they are just as passionate about thier cars too, which when you get right down to it is a good thing. It's that passion that keeps the car enthusiast hobby alive and strong. Not only that, it keeps things interesting, and that little battle of 'passions' certainly was interesting. One thing you can say about Ford people is that when the going gets tough, the tough band together. Thanks for stopping by FikseGTS, and congats to John and his awesome drag Maverick. That was a well deserved win.(y)

the voting is tracked by IP address, so in network language, if you're workplace is behind a firewall, doing a NAT/PAT, then my server will see everyone as coming from the same address.... I've used cookies and some other methods the past, but those are so easy to mess with... :) there is no "perfect" method within reason..

right now I have a Viper GTS and M45....

    I used to have a C32, and an RX-7...

the firewall/ip configuration was what we figured as well.definately not a perfect method available:huh:
Nice viper, for a non ford car. you gonna tune it in a little? that would be more appropriate as a number 2 on the list car to a mav(y)

Well... now that the new Z06 is out, and probably quicker, I think I need some more power.... heads and roller rockers would put me at about 510 rwhp, a 8psi non-intercooled supercharger would put me at 625 rwhp.... or the intercooled twin-turbo setup for 800 rwhp..... all pretty expensive... 5k, 8k, 13k.....
