Anybody in Canada looking for a console?
I have seen these consoles in the bigger body Ford/Mercury
cars of the 70's and wondered if they would fit in a Comet
or Maverick. This one is from a mid to late 70's Cougar.

Here is someone's chance to find out. Scott Drake repops the
factory floor shifter bezel in chrome for about $65. These consoles
can be repaired if there are cracks and dyed to any color.

Hey Seth, do you know if that shifter bezel is the same as the shifter bezel from a 79-86 Mustang floor shifter? sure looks like it.

I am pretty sure that it is. '79-'86 was probably plastic where these
are pot metal. Some Mustangs that I have seen-early 70's, had black
bezels. They may not be original.

I have a automatic shifter from a 79-86 Mustang, do you know if they make reproduction shifter bezels for them?

BTW, The one that's on it is black and made out of plastic.

    Maybe.....

    According to Mustangs Unlimited:

This one is the '71-'73 bezel-the black one I talked about. Maybe it is
metal-painted. I thought it would be plastic.

Here is the chrome one that replaces Comet/Mav floor A/T shifters.

The black one is over $80 the chrome one is $69.

Year One does not have a listing for one for '79 and up.

Do you know if the 71-73 bezel would work or another year?

I am not sure if the attachment pattern is the same size. I would guess yes.

Didn't find one, but thanks anyway. I would appreciate any other leads or if someone can tell me if their 100% sure a 71-73 bezel or another year is the same, does anyone have any measurements?

I would call them I am sure the 79-86 Mustang piece is repopped. I will try to look at the 73 Cougar I have for measurements.

Allen screw/plug/lock removes the shifter handle-faces the dash, 4 screws hold the bezel.
