anyone got any pics of rear disks on a stock maverick rear end?

with a parking brake would be nice. now i've seen plenty of big brake 2 or 4 pistion aftermarket ones for 9 inchers... so thats of no interest to me... never the less i have a kit.

but i'm really looking to do something with my stocker. i've heard people using other newer ford stuff.. but i'm not really wanting to do too much fabing or infact i don't want to do any.

i'm also presuming mustang kits will work but would still like to see what others have done out there.

Ditto, What is turning in that little mind of yours. I looked at PST kits but for some reason I don't think it will be a bolt on.

I haven't got to that yet but I did look into it while I was cutting up the back of the Comet. I will be checking into it further. I also think we will need to change the booster for more psi.

I thought I had seen a kit somewhere for the 8" and I am pretty sure it was only a single piston

Didn't one of the magazines recently have a bolt on kit that converted your drums to discs? PHP, HR, or something like that.

I used a Stainless Steel Brake Company kit a couple years ago. It required no fabbing and it will install on most 8" or 9" Ford rear ends. It has provisions for the parking brake cables and I was able to install them and get the parking brake to work. This probably isn't exactly the kind of pic you are looking for, but it is all I could find for now:

It was around $550 if I remember correctly...pricy for sure, but I figured it was a lot less hassle than other available options...and since I changed the rear end to an equi-loc already I didn't want to replace the whole thing. I found the instructions to be great and the installation to be pretty straight forward. The only thing I didn't like was that the brake pedal was a lot harder than before the rear discs...nothing that a little Hydroboost couldn't fix. :D

Heh...I guess because many people who own Mavericks bought their car for less than the price of a kit like that I have come to expect people to freak when they see the price..

    Check this link out: http://www.stainlesssteelbrakes.com/products/search/?make=Street+Rod+Kits&model=Ford+8%22+%26+9%22+Rear+Ends

They have kits that should fit any 8 or 9" rear end. Looks like the suggested retail is higer now ($795), but I remember that I got it cheaper thru Summit or Jegs than buying direct from SSBC. I think the kit I got was A111-2
