a guy at work asked me to see if i could find out...what intake and gasket options he can use with...early winsor heads on a 302 block?
he is thinking...winsor heads..302 intake and winsor gasket.
    thank you very much...frank...:bouncy:

I think all the windsor engine family gaskets and heads interchange, only diff will be the steam holes in the 351s, and even then you can drill a 289-302 block for them . Of course you can't use a 351 intake on a 289-302 because of the increased block width, and vice versa. But any 289-302 intake should interchange.

He needs to use the 351W intake gaskets since the 351 heads have bigger ports. Use a bead of RTV at the end seals. Head and exhaust gaskets are the same as 302.

I never drilled the block either. Maybe I was supposed to, but ran them on a stockcar, never had any problem.

Frank , in case he doesn`t know it ,he will also need to use either "stepped" head bolts (ARP makes them) or like Lorraine`s engine has, he can use the Edelbrock stepped washers Part # 9680.

He will have to use them due to The 302 uses 7/16" head bolts ,and the 351 w uses 1/2" .

I ran 69 Windsor heads on mine and used Felpro MS90116 intake gaskets ( 69-74 351w application). Std 302 intake, special stepped head bolts that I bought from Ford parts. I drilled the steam holes in the head not the block, used the head gasket as the template.
