Well, that kinda sucks...but I think I would have expected it. I have recently bought TWO different 74 Mav fan shrouds from two different people. One shipped USPS, the other UPS. Guess what...BOTH of them came in broke. The first one came from someone on this board and I think was probably due to a crappy packaging job. I wasn't real happy about that one, especially since he didn't offer any help back on it but that's okay...I don't forget things like that. The second one (UPS) was simply crushed during shipping but luckily was insured. That was probably the only fan shrouds out there available. Oh well...maybe one day. Good luck with FedEx.

I shipped a shroud to someone on this board and it got broke too. Was it you Ray? I thought it was packaged good enough. I think the only way to send one is if you have one of those expandable foam machines.

I've been on the butt-end of similar incidents and got nothing for it. Even though it was insured, UPS claimed the packaging was insufficient. After a LOT of arguing back and forth, I wound up SOL.

'Sorry to see that happen to your windshield.

    Good luck.

Man I hate shipping large items like that, doesnt seem to matter how much stuffing or how good you pack it is always possible to break, its definetly trash now. I cant say that I blame the shipping company as they are just people doing thier job if its anybodies fault it is probably mine for shipping something so fragile. Anything anybody ever buys from me that if they are not satisfied with or is broke dont sweat it I will refund your money, no questions asked. The way it should be.

I love to hear a 'success' story - (relatively speaking).

On another quick rant: I ordered a telephone from SBC once (along with one of their 'package' plans). It was 'supposedly' delivered to my home in Houston by UPS. I was billed for it (on the SBC bill). It never came. After complaining to both sides (which neither wanted to admit fault), the last guy I spoke with advised me to just give up - SBC had a "deal" with UPS that they (SBC) wouldn't be held responsible. UPS showed me an obvious forged signature by my daughter (who lived in Chicago at the time). Bottom line - I got screwed.

    Bastage.

Just one of the reasons why I don't ship glass.

That sucks. Anytime you ship something made of glass you take a chance. Unless you can figure out a way to pack it as if it were an egg, chances are someone will treat it like a soccer ball. I never use UPS for shipping anymore. Everything I have ever shipped through them arrived damaged. Thankfully the items inside the boxes were not damaged, but UPS sure knows how to tear the boxes up. I once shipped a bunch of books UPS and they even managed to rip the side out of that box. The books were OK, but that was the last straw for me. Everything I ship now is through the USPS. They have yet to deliver a package from me that has been damaged in transit.
