I took my newly completed Maverick to the Bob's Big Boy cruise & to Fudruckers last Friday & Saturday night. The car ran flawlessly & I must say it is pretty quick, even with the 3.00 gears. The comments ranged from isn't that cute(mostly chicks), to I didn't know that they made Cobra Mavericks, to how come your brake booster is crooked, to is that a Vega? I did have a super annoying squeek from the trunk mounted battery, which I promptly fixed the next morning. All in all, a successful run...

Someone asked me last week if my car was a vega. You'd be surprised how many people say "nice camaro" They dont even look like camaro's. Although I debadged the car on purpose just so people would ask:) My favorite one is "what is that?" because then It gives me a chance to bragg.

No ones called my Maverick a Camero yet, but has been called a Pinto a few times, a Mustang a time or two, and a Charger once. I can see the confusion with the Pinto , but a Charger? It took all I had not to laugh at the guy. BTW, the only badge on my car is the one that says "Maverick" in the grill and the " Ford" letters on the hood and trunk. Bet you did'nt know Ford made a Charger.

I have one to top all of those...
All the kids at my school know I have some mavericks.
I had told them that I was going to bring my "new" two door to school for a banquet dinner thing.
When I got inside, I went up to some of my friends and told them that I brought it
A couple of them said to me, and I quote"Yea there was this cool looking blue Nova out there too. Did you see it?"
I just chuckled to myself and we went out to see my mav because they had never seen it before and got outside, the two kids continued to point out my car and say "yea there it is. Isnt that awesome?"
You should have seen their faces when we got to it and I said "yea that IS a cool Nova isnt it?" I thought that was funny anyway
