Aehh! Maverick lovers, I will post pics later. My Maverick is a 1970, 250 CI, auto, 4 lug with PS, bright window trim, AM radio and heater. Anyone else out there remember when Heaters were optional equipment? I am the third owner of this Britteny Blue, 60 K, 2 door and have all the origional sales paperwork, manual, etc. The build sheet is in tatters but readable. I have owned this car about 4 years and have made some mods and additions...all reverseable. Additionally, I have R&R'ed the entire fuel system, gas tank, lines, fuelpump,"sensors", rebuilt the carb, with similar treatment of the cooling/heating system. I replaced the rear springs W/ 4 leaf Grabber parts and gas shocks. I've also R&R'ed the A arms/balljoints and am collecting parts for a compleat frontend rebuild, bushings and all. I have replaced the sealed beem headlight units with newtec dimond cut euro "projectors" with built-in park lights. I've also replaced the exhast system with flowmasters and duels, mostly for visual and auditory appeal. And speaking of sound, the factory AM is in the basement with a modest AM/FM tape in the radio "box" and new speakers. The interior is a work in progress. Perfect headliner, orig.carpet, new dash cap, good kick panals and door panals, good glass all around except the grit-groved windshield which I hope to replace with the "someday-in-the-future" body/paint phase of the project. I've replaced the rear seats with nice vinyl units from a '72 Comet. The stock front bench needs total rehab and I have Nice matching buckets from the same '72 Comet, which have not been installed yet due to lack of know-how on my part. This brings us to the primary reason I was attracted to this site...does anyone care to share advise on bucket seat installations in non-bucket Mavericks? I am also interested in advise on suspension upgrades and improvements (5 lug spindles, power disk breaks, stiffer bushings, etc,). Does anyone have suggestions on body work ? I have rust on all 6 quarter panal points as well as the hood lip. You can't see it from the street or in pics, but its what one usually sees in Ohio region Mavericks. In the 70's "they" (part houses) sold repair panels for Maverick/Comet called "clips" to replace cutaway lower quarters. Anyone know a source? How about a affordable rear deck spoiler and front "argent" chin spoiler? I have some spares and extras, grills and other stuff for trade or ?? I am a disabillity retired Firefighter/Paramedic so takin' er' to West Coast Customs ain't an option. Money's Rare, thats why I loved Mavericks in the first place! Best reguards to the Maverick community...and A'wado (Cherokee Thanks)...Kogiman
