One thing I noticed in my 77 brochure is that in 77 power disc were mandatory with the 302.

Disc brakes were optional in 1974 and standard from 75-77 with power discs being optional depending on the package.

Was there any diffrence between power discs and manual discs other then the booster and shock tower brace? My '76 has power discs and I am going to be putting them on my '72 soon, they will not be power anymore. Should work fine, correct? I guess what I'm trying to ask is will the distribution block and stuff work ok with a manual disc master cylinder?

They were still an option in 75. Drums were standard that year.

To answer Jamie's questions, yes, the booster is the only difference. As far as the rest of the system, some say you have to change the distribution block and some dont. I have never changed the block and never had a problem. My Sprint braking system is standard 72 stuff with just the disc added. THere has been alot of discussion on this subject, Maybe it should be added to the FAQ section.

I know the power disc brake prop valve is different than the manual disc brake prop valve. One mounts vertically and one mounts horizontally. I don't know if there is an internal difference though.

I just put disc on my 71 this weekend they came off of a 75 mav they were none power went to change prop valve and the 71 rear brake line nut is bigger then the prop valve hole so I guess I will have to change the brake line going back to the rear brakes. but if there is no problem with them working this way I will keep it like that.

I'm running all 72 brake lines, master cylinder, and distribution block along with disc fronts. No problems here.
