i have a 1974 mav that i think at one time had an a/c in it, theres a heater, and an a/c switch, but theres no physical a/c. winters on its way out, and the 110F days of summer down here are rapidly approaching, any ideas of how to get an a/c in a mav... affordably?? thanks. -ryan
Does it have any of the engine compartment stuff like the compressor, mount, condensor, lines, drier? I have complete plenum box that is completely rebuilt and i may have one that is not.
Get out the phone book. I'm sure there are places around you that can install A/C. It's probably not going to be cheap no matter what you do.
If you have a shop do the install, they will probably order up a universal street rod kit and install that in your mav. Labor will prob. be about 600 or more. I've seen complete univrsal kits for about 600 and up but you get what you pay for. so I think you are prob looking at a bare minimum of 1200 or so if you go that route. if you order your own kit and do the install yourself, you will save quite a bit, you would just have to get the system charged.
find a place that does "street rods" Earl and Terry (thanks) turned me on to a guy that is doing my '73. it had A/C from factory so he is hooking up everything inside like stock and putting the late model stuff under the hood...$1175. ...frank...
