    Ok,
Is there really a 1969 Maverick?
Does anyone have one thats registered as a "1969"?? I thought they were sold as "1970's" ..if they were built in "69" but sold as a "70" wouldn't that make them a "70"
The paperwork I have from St.Thomas lists Job 1 as 3/17/69 and Kansas Job 1 as 3/27/69. And everything is titled "1970 Maverick Start-up" the earlier stuff I have lists it a as "Falcon" and doesn't mention Maverick anyware.
Maybe I should scan some of this stuff and put it on a CD, I'm sure there isn't too much of this paperwork around anymore except maybe at Ford in Dearborn?:hmmm:

They were 1970's, they had an early introduction date
Just like the 65 Mustang people coined the term 64 1/2 Mustang, although it was titled as a 65 model. The 1/2 term was coined due to the production/engineering differences in them and that they were built during the traditional 64 model year. The Maverick had a introduction date of April 17, 1969, 5 years to the day of the introduction of the Mustang

I guess we all have a Birthday coming up!(y)

It was an early model year release just like they do today. You can buy 2007 cars right now (new Ford Sport Trak for instance) ... but they are still registered as a 2007 and have a 2007 VIN ....

Could it depend on the state you are in???
I remember seeing a title with 69 as the year.
Forgot which state... it has been a while.

My 69-1/2 was titled as a 70. The only reason I refer to it as a 69-1/2 is to note the key on the tray. Which only means something to me cause I think it's neat, and I'm not old enough to have had a couple of different cars w/ a key on the dash. :D

i actually know where there is a maverick with the ignition key in the package tray. it also has the gas tank bolted in from the top like the old mustangs. the guy tried to sell it to me but it's in pretty bad shape and no title. i was kinda wondering myself if these were kinda rare. it's still on my mind to go back and check it over  just didnt know if it would be worth my trouble....

They are not real rare but are unique. I've junked 2 of them and my convertible project is being done to another one.
