    Hi everyone.

I have been thinking about selling my 1985 Ford Bronco XLT recently and got an offer to trade it for a 1975 Ford Maverick.

So my question is: What would this maverick be worth? People say my truck is worth $1100 to $1500.

    About the Maverick:
    -2 door
-Blue with Vinyl top (needs care for the top.)
    -250 V6
    -Rebuilt Automatic transmission
-"The only real damage on the car is the rear bumper is bent on the right rear corner"
    -Needs front brakes
    -AC Needs Recharged

anyone able to tell me what this would be valued at?(about).

    Thank you:)

    I agree with
but if the maverick is in decent shape (aside from the above mentioned) probably not a bad trade....but I might be a little bias :D

lol...Sorry.. i havent even seen the car yet. I posted my truck on a classified site and the guy responded... i just want to go into this with an idea of the value, so i dont waste his or mine time.

the guy said his camera is broken. and said he would want to meet me somewhere to show me the car. So i can post pictures after i see it and snap a shot of it.

i asked "is there anything wrong with it" and the only things he said were above.

He said his wife has been using it for a daily driver while he was at basic training.

I used to own a 1971 Maverick that my dad gave away before i acctually got to use it (it was my first car... but it never ran). And i reallly liked it.But my mom said she owned one and the engine was horrible in it (and it could barely make it up hills). hahaha.

are you going to keep it stock or upgrade the engine and tranny?

without seeing the actual pictures.. there is no way of telling.. BUT

if the paint is faded and it wont start.. and rusted.... 500
paint is decent.. runs.. needs love.. 1200-1500
paint is near perfect and it runs but needs interior 2000 or so
if the car is immaculate.. no work needed.. turn key and go... 3000-5000

these are guesstimates... all cars are different

now you have to ask yourself.. do you want to 4 wheel drive.. if so.. keep your truck.. if you want a nice light car for a hotrod.. go with the maverick

the 75 mav should have 5 lugs and other options that are desired.. but has the big bumpers.. and you can change those if you want.

bottom line.. it all depends on what YOU want to do and how much you want to spend

technically it would be my first car i USE. i bought the bronco in December to use as a daily driver, but the work it needs is just pileing up and I dont have the money to keep up with it. (no job... im getting my first job soon so i need a reliable car).

I like muscle cars, and the roar you get out of them... and would probably be going that way with this one when i had money. Until then it would just be a daily driver.

Well, as a daily driver, the Maverick will definately be more thrifty than the Bronco. If its in decent shape, sounds like a good swap to me.

Go and take a look.. check out the torque boxes, sub frames at the rear spring shackle, lip at top of the shock towers, and just look for areas that may need repair..

just a lucky guess, but does the owner of the Mav live really close to you. Maybe Radmav:huh:

as far as any older car goes,... they all need work.. you might have less work with the maverick, you may not, it is older than the bronco..

honestly.. if you want to get something more reliable... take a car buff with you to take a look at the maverick and see how much work it needs.. then decide

but i would go for the maverick.. seeing as how this is a maverick/comet forum.. :)

    good luck

if everything is mechanically equal, the mav will be cheaper to drive. tires for my highboy are looking to be 1k. im looking at e rated but the d are only about 60 dollars less.the grabbers speed rated michelin pilots only cost me 600 and the xones i had on the cougar only 450. the grabber gets about 20mpg and the high boy gets 17 but the wifes bronco only got around 14. there are two questions in favor of the bronco though. how much snow do you have to drive in (rain is no prob) and do you need towing/carrying capacity. good luck either way.
