Ok so I've told the story about ordering a new harmonic balancer because I have picked up a vibration. Tonight I pulled off the fan and the pulleys. There were only two bolts left in the crank pulley! :49: The two that were still there were at least 'tight'. Not a ton of torque on them but at least they weren't hanging halfway out. I think I can even see where the outside ring has slipped, and the paint on each piece doesn't line up with the other.

While I've got it all apart I think I'll finally install those u-joints I've had in my toolbox for 2 years. :biglaugh:

A little duct tape would have taken care of that! J/K :biglaugh:

Good thing you found it when you did.

Well I have to confess I noticed it a while back, probably in the fall, but didn't think much of it. Then when Robert was up here in (was it Feb?) he noticed it and said something about it. I owe him one. :tiphat:)

That's what it says in the instructions for the new balancer (SFI 18.1 btw).

Hmmm, I have never used Threadlocker on them just a good bolt with a lock washer. I should probably double check mine now that I am running a serpentine setup.

Nothing like living on the edge. Of course you could have left it that way until it failed. Then use that as an excuse to buy a new aluminum radiator.

Actually I bought the aluminum radiator 2 or 3 years ago, so I'm covered already. I just decided to save the hacking for the Grabber's core support. :D
