My first car was a 73 Mav I bought from my uncle who was a salesman at the dealership I currently work at. Purchased it in 1983, I was the second and fourth owner. Sold it to a friend and bought it back a year later. I was somewhat restoring it when I came across a 71 Grabber that my boss's brother had. Bought it for $400 bucks, that was 14 years ago. Currently undergoing restomod rebuild.

My first Mav was a '72 Sprint, which I proceeded to drive about 200K miles, wreck the passenger door, and trade for a really nice '74 Pinto wagon! How sick is that????? I have owned a few since, none remarkable, and none restored, until I bought the one I have now. I found it on a rollback, headed for the crusher. I asked the guy how much the crusher was giving him....$50. I told him I would give him $100 to take it to my house, and he did so, and that was 6 years ago. Now I am noticing it is time to start over and maybe go through the process again. It never seems to end with cars.....they need this maintenance thing every now and again. Anyway, I have no intention of selling it, and hopefully one of my kids will take care of it when I can't.

    I was 20 years old, 1990...
Got it for around 600 bux from a 'tote the note' car lot here in Pensacola.
I was young and the car took a beating the few years I had it.

That looks just like my '74 Grabber did from the factory. :yup: The first Maverick ever in my family was years and years ago. My uncle bought a goldish yellow '69.5 new. It was a 170/3 on the tree. He sold it to my grandpa a couple of years later. My grandma drove it back and forth to work for a few years and then my grandpa sold it. To this day my uncle hates that car. Said it was an underpowered piece of junk, could barely get up a hill. My grandparents on the other hand loved the car and drove it all over the place.

The first one I ever rode in was my dad's '71 Comet GT. I was brought home from the hospital as a new born in that car. My dad sold it in 2002.

The first car I ever rode in was a 1966 Purple Corvair, I was almost born in it!:D
My dad sold it in the Spring of 1970, to get a more "family" appropriate car, a brand new 1970 Gremlin Sport Coup, which had a 305 or a 307 in it, I'm not sure which. All I remember is it had the biggest one available that year.:drive:

Is that for the Gremlin? or the Corvair? Im pretty sure the Corvair didn't have a V8 ?
Sounds right for the Gremlin. That car was so light on the ASS end that it would fish-tail when there was just dew on the road! :slap: :slap: :slap:
