Sorry guys...I just never have liked the roofline of a 4 door. I think the 4 door cars is what gave the Maverick the "grocery getter" or "grandmas car" label. I too have owned several 4 doors but only for parts. I presently have seven 2 door cars. :)

I don't like them at all, period. I drove my '73 to NC and gave away everything I didn't want off of it and am using the shell as a dry place to store parts...

I turned down a '71 4 door at $250 because the guy wouldn't come down to $150. I could have drove it home, but it was a 6 cylinder 4 lug car, smoked and ran rough, fenders were tweaked and valances were bashed, and there just wasn't $250 worth of parts there IMO. Last I heard he sent it to the crusher.

i will agree that the 4 doors did give the "grocery getter, grandma car" inprestion. BUT--- i do have a small bumber & a 302 in mine and if you are going for a stealth rocket car, these are it. NOBODY suspects a 4 door maverick to have a hot engine and really be able to run. i can't count the number of ricers i have surprised with mine. no road racing just playing with them alittle. it's fun to tease

    I like 4 doors.....

If I was to build a a high horse power drag car only it could very well be a 4 door. The extended wheel base would help keep the car strait at launch and be less likely to get squirrly down the track. That was why the early cougars were prefered by some racers over the early mustang. I think they make good around town cruisers. Also for the young guy(or  older) that needs fast and easy access to the back seat for a little "girly action" a 4 door just can't beat. :evilsmile

All mavericks rule 2 door or 4.......so no matter your preference just keep on mavericking for life!!!!!!!!!

One of my pipe dreams for a loooong time is to use a 4- door Mav and stretch it to make a limo out of it. I've never seen or heard of that before. It would surely have V-8 power and have a luxury theme to it. Fancy paint, leather upholstery, moon roofs, all that good stuff. This project is in the same category as my V-10 Mav - I'll probably never do it but it's good to day dream once in a while.

    Sam :)

I like the idea of a 4-door drag car. I'd shave the door handles on the back doors though...

I love my 4 door it gets drivin nearly every day. While it's not a show car. I still get comments about it. My two door is my hot rod and the 4 door is my driver/beater. (Ok a guess my two door is a beater too but it stays in the garage when it rains)

I know you can get one for the windshield. Doors I'm not sure about. I'm 99% sure you can't get one for the rear window. Seems like you could cut down 2 door window felts to fit.
