Looking at the bottom of the car, I thought the damage looked pretty minor. Unfortunately the area above the torque box, where I could not see from below was it horrible shape. The rest of the floorboards are pretty bad too. Sad thing is, the cowl vents seem to be in pretty good shape, just one small hole from what I can tell. But then, I thought the floors were ok too... :( Can't wait to start repairing this...

Here they are patched up with some hacked up Mustang Rear pans ... It will look better when everthing has been smothered with POR-15. But then again - it will be under the carpet so no big deal.

dmhines, that's the route I would like to take with mine. I wonder if the front pan adapts as well as the rear pan.

Luckily for me - I didn't need to find out if the Mustang Front pans would work. Good luck!

you can always do what an x girlfriend did.

She had an old school bug, but the floor pans had already rotted CLEAR through..

She found that sheets of plywood worked best for her application

It is interesting how many old threads are showing up lately because of new members posts. In a way that's pretty good, as it shows they are reading the archives. (y) Bad thing is so many of the old posts have lost there pictures.
Now when they are posting answers to 3 and 4 year old questions - those scare me! :yikes:

Circle797 - do a search for MUSTANG FLOORBOARDS - look for the thread I did - it has pictures of my repairs. Most guys adapt the reproduction Mustang pans.

Floorboards is an ancient term, my model A has floor boards. Floorpans is the new term. But I still see old cars with plywood over the rusted floors here in IL. Matt,,, update this thread with the proper term. lol.

if you have "rotten floorboards" they are wood.
if you have "rusted floorpans" they are metal. :yup:
