ok guys i need to find a set of rear wheels for my mav in 5 lug, as topic suggests i want to keep it as sleeper as possible, but i need them as wide as possible with stock rear end, would be great if i could retain my hubcaps on the new rims. any suggestions?

I have some 6" wide wheels. They are plain jane factory steel wheels. Email me directly if interested.

Summit carries a brand called Wheel Vintiques that makes Ford poverty cap steel rims in custom sizes.
I like the idea of 15x7 on 4" b/s for the rear, and 15x5 on 2.5" b/s for the front.
They also make them wider though.
You just need to make sure they have the bulges for the Ford cap. I think they are 10.25" if I remember correct. Then you may have to get trim rings in another depth depending on b/s and overall rim width.
    Good luck

Nothing for Mavericks wider than 6". I dont think Ford made anything wider than a 7". I'd go to Stockton.

I put a set of 15X7 Dodge "Police" rallys on my Maverick to roll it around the yard when I was moving all my cars (same bolt pattern as Ford).....they looked pretty good, and the dog dish center caps don't have any script or emblems on them, so they'll work on any car. It gave the Mav a "factory" musclecar sleeper look. They're not to hard to find, (came on everything from 70's Furys and Polaras to the mid to late 80's Diplomats and Grand Fury cop cars) and with a little searching, can probably be had a lot cheaper than ordering "custom" steel wheels.

These are the "slotted" rallys, much like the classic Chevy rally rims.

I've since put the wheels on my 64 Galaxie, but I'll see if I can put 'em back on the Mav and try and get some pics to post.

Of course, for a "factory Ford" look in steel wheels, you can't beat the Magnum 500s,......but they don't really lend to the "sleeper" look

If you want to stick strictly to Ford parts, and don't mind upping the wheel diameter a bit, the 16X7 Crown Victoria police wheels will bolt right on, and have several different styles of center caps to choose from. I have a set of these on my '98 Interceptor, but haven't been able to get the car from my wife long enough to try the wheels on my Mav to get some pics yet.
