how much do i need to gap new spark plugs for my maverick? i tried looking for the gapping on the net and at autozone, couldnt find anything thanks!
You didn't mention the size of the engine. In the chinlton book the gap for a 170,200,250 and 302 from 1970-74 is .032-.036. Hope this helps.
sorry the engine is a 1970 200. does that mean i can gap it between .032 to .036, or that i have to gap them .032 or .036? thanks alot!!!
Click on this link. It is in my gallery and it has all the tune up specs on it. http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/showimage.php?i=1647&original=1
When you see a range listed like that, it means anywhere within those two numbers. I usually go for the smaller value because as plugs wear, the gap increases due to the electrodes wearing away.
When I see a range like that for plugs I go with a middle number its easier. You can use .034 and be OK.
