From year to year, what made the Grabber different from the base model?

Some interior colors were Grabber only, like the Orange on my '74.

No engine mods? I asked because there is a Grabber on e-Bay right now that has a I6, and the way my father always talked, "Grabbers are what you want" so I figured they were all v8s.

So, it is all just cosmetic?

Nope, they were not all V8's. My 72 WAS an I6 but no more. (y)

My 73 came with Goodyear tires with raised white letters. I'm not sure about other years. I suppose those tires were available on other Mavericks, but I doubt anyone else ordered them.

Are you counting vinyl stripes and decals in "paint design?" What about fog lights in the front grill? Were those only on Grabbers?

most grabbers were 6 cylinders. most differences were cosmetic or bolt on.:)

My dad was a MOPAR guy...had a 69 Road runner (with I-don't-know-how-big-a-motor) in it. Then moved up to a Dodge van with a 440 and headers, holley 4-barrel (to haul that Jet Boat around, the Road Runner tended to run hot through the Mojave desert while hauling a boat, go figure  ).

So when I told him I was "acquiring" my wife's great-grandmother's Maverick, he started talking "Grabber" this and "Grabber" that, so I figured "Grabber" was a good thing.

So, other than a cool hood for a couple of years, it really wasn't such a big deal?

Keep in mind, my dad bought a Ford Thunderbird and it started burning oil before he paid it off...Therefore...he is not a Ford fan. MOST DEFINITELY NOT a Ford fan...

My theory is...if I know how to rebuild it, I can do so every 5 years and be a HAPPY camper! And at 1000 miles a year...

Now, when my HEMI Dodge Ram 1500 starts burning oil, I will rebuild it to 500HP, and have a kicka$$ truck :D

Nothing special about the Grabber Vs. a standard Maverick, except that Grabbers look the best...

As already stated ... the Majority of Grabbers were 6-cylinders and the Grabber was only an appearance package.

It is a 93 VIN so it is a factory Grabber.
