Are there any 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust systems available that will work on a 4 door mav? Maybe a mustang system or something. Looking for a header back piping setup.
My local muffler shop only does the pinch bent systems. :bs:

    Thanks

Years ago I put an early Mustang kit on my Mav, the only part that didn't fit quite right was the tailpipes. They stuck out at a different angle, don't remember if they were up or down too much. Just cut and welded that last angle.

Fan2488 just recently put one in his 73 two-door, I think. If I remember right, he bought a mustang kit (not sure which year) and maybe had to make minor mods or cuts to make it fit.

had my exhaust done at a local muffler shop and the sound is loud with original (old school ) flowmasters, single chamber, 2.5 with cross-overs !! if you have a mild engine
don't sweat the mandrel bending, just go with 2.5 pipes and your good to go!! the cross-
over gives you about 3 to 5 HP and 8 to 10 in torq, it also cancells out some noise too !! paid only 60.00 dollars for labor/2.5 tubing,120.00 USD flowmasters.
the drivers side at the rear of the car is a real tight fit because of thr way the gas tank sits. nothing beats a custom exhaust install !!

I've often wondered about using a Mustang exhaust kit myself, how well does it fit around the gas tank? And where does it dump out? The rear or out the sides behind the tires?

I can tell you that I"m pretty sure the Mustang tail pipes will not work on 71-77. At least not the left side. The tank is more centered on the mustang. Of course, if you convert to a mustang tank, you just might have a better chance.

Talk about VAGUE. Do you, or can you get the info from him? Please.

And the number of that kit from Jegs would be what? Any info is greatly appreciated. I am tired of running the rusty piping that was given to me from another car to hook up and kept me from running open headers. The car sounded awesome through the headers. Neighbors didn't like it much but who cares?

Thats what I thought, especialy the left one and exiting out the rear. I thought maybe if it exited behind the wheel to the side, over the spring it might have a chance....
