I had an old guy who came up all exited and told me he saw my car on the Year One web site on the power tour coverage. :)

He started taking pictures of the My car with a disposable camera he`d bought. So he could show his son .

He was bald on top with solid white hair,he pointed to a 4 inch scar on his head and said "I got this in a Grabber the same color as yours back in the seventies...a guy crossed the center line and hit me head on!...I had a head full of Black hair back then though!"

A lady was near by who over heard the old man and said "My first car was a Maverick ...I loved that car! I wish I would have kept it"

No matter where I drive my Mav someone always tells me a Maverick or Comet story.:)

I had a person tell me today that they use to have a Comet. They called it the Vomit. It sure didn't look anything like yours though....I love those kind of stories....

It seems like everyone I meet "had one as my first car!" and similar. One guy "my parents both had matching Mavericks, and I got one of them when I went to high school" etc.

    I love those stories.

You drive up in a 69 camaro and everyone goes "cool" or " nice car". In a Mav, you get much more emotion and fond memories. "Dude, you just don't see Mavericks anymore!!! My grandmother drove one for years..." and stuff like that.

here in pr, had a guy stop me on the highway to look at my car !! wanted to trade a nova and cash for it !! at a local garage, a guy in jeep renegade did a 180 turn and stoped right next to me and offer 7,000 dollars on the spot !! I told him thats a good offer, but it's not for sale !! I get more attention with the maverick than when im riding in
my mercedes benz !! hell last night a young lady a small kid said; WOW ,look at that car!!
with a frozen look on thier faces, two teenagers riding bicicles ask me what type of car that is and ask for a burn out !! I gave them two and a chirp when the c-4 1-2 shifted!!

I to have never got a negative comment or story about these cars. Driving them daily, you certainly hear plenty of storys.

Hell, I never knew until recently that my grandma bought a '70 Mav brand new almost identical to the '69.5 I just bought. She said it was a great car, just didn't have enough power. She traded it in on a new '77 Thunderbird.

Yesterday, I was driving through the 'hood with no grill, missing the front driver fender, no hood, and the exhaust dumps off...All the kiddos on their bikes stopped and said "DUDE, COOL CAR!!!" At least, I think that is what they said...it is hard to hear over open headers... :D

Two kids in a boom box on wheels (Honda) pulled up along side me and one said to the other, "Dude, I bet he bought that thing new".

Ok, so I was 20 when my Mav was built, but be kind to us white haired dudes!
